Empire of Men

The many people of the northern lands banded together as the growing threat of the Beast Hordes grew larger. The 5 city estates under Human rule became united under a single banner, leaving behind all issues amongst each other.

Centuries ago the first Humans lived among tribes on the western parts of the north, as they grew they caught the attention of other beings, one of which eventually became bitter enemies against them.
The Khorvanns controlled the north lands for many years and saw the Humans as a means to bolster their workforce in building the many structures they required to please their gods. For a millennium Humans became slaves to the Khorvanns, they were treated as fodder during wartime, house slaves and those who could not work were used as food.

From this subjugation came unity between themselves, which led to a rebellion against their masters. While the population of Khorvanns dwindled, Humans breed faster and eventually became too many for them to control. The Humans organized riots which led to small scale battles between the two species, many were lost on both sides, but this allowed Humans to escape into far away lands.

The unity between the Human tribes gave them the strength to forge the first kingdom which they named Baltonia, after the leader of their rebellion. Baltonia quickly grew and kept the population safe against the constant Khorvannian attacks but it wouldn't last against a full scale war against them. This led the Humans to develop better and much more sophisticated weapons  with which to stand firm against their enemies.

Eventually the Khorvanns insisted on reclaiming the Humans to bolster their workforce and decided to launch a massive campaign against them. This bloody chapter of recorded history is called the "Great War" and lasted for a hundred years.
At the end of the war, the Humans had obliterated the Khrovanns and forced them out of the northern lands, while they didn't eliminate them completely to cause a genocide, they were left weakened.

The only remaining Khorvannians fled to the southern continent in search of sanctuary and were not heard from for many years.

With the threat of the Khorvanns gone, the Humans quickly expanded among the adjacent territories, becoming the first major empire in history. This empire lasted for centuries, until it splintered into 5 city states...
